Privacy Policy
We want to be straightforward about what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This policy covers everything we do with your information when you use BatteryMIS.

01 Who we are
Pranava Technologies owns and operates BatteryMIS. We are an MSME-registered company based in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, and are GST compliant. The platform is available at batterymis.com and through the BatteryMIS web application.
We are the data controller for all personal data collected through the platform. Any questions about how we handle your data can be directed to us at contact@batterymis.com or on WhatsApp at +91 81100 13400.
02 What data we collect
We only collect what we actually need. Here is a plain summary:

We do not collect data you have not given us. If you browse the public site without signing in, we do not identify you.
03 Why we collect it
Everything we collect has a reason. We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account and remember your progress.
- Deliver platform features - lessons, simulations, Ask AI, Resume AI, Standards AI, and Secure Job.
- Process payments and issue GST-compliant invoices from Pranava Technologies.
- Personalise your experience - for example, showing where you left off in the curriculum or which jobs match your profile.
- Improve the platform - understanding how features are used helps us fix problems and build better tools.
- Communicate with you - plan updates, new features, important notices, and (with your consent) promotional offers.
- Comply with Indian law - including GST filing, responding to lawful requests from authorities, and maintaining records as required.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or sell it to third parties for commercial gain.
04 Cookies and session data
BatteryMIS uses cookies for one purpose: to keep you logged in. When you sign in, we set a session cookie so you do not have to log in again every time you open the platform. This cookie expires when you log out or after a period of inactivity.
We do not use cookies to track your browsing behaviour outside the platform. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data with any advertising networks.
Cookies are generated only for registered, logged-in users. If you are browsing the public site without an account, no cookies are set.
05 Who we share your data with
We share limited data with third parties only where necessary to run the platform. Here is who that includes:
- Payment processors - We use a payment gateway to handle UPI, card, and net banking transactions. They receive your payment details to process the transaction. We do not see your full card or UPI credentials.
- Firebase / Google - We use Firebase for authentication and Firestore for database storage. Your account data and usage data is stored on Firebase infrastructure (Google Cloud, Mumbai region where available).
- Email service providers - We use an email delivery service to send you account-related emails (welcome email, password reset, plan confirmation). These providers do not use your data for their own marketing.
- HR partners (Secure Job feature) - If you are on a paid plan and have an active profile, your name, experience level, skills, and location may be shared with hiring partners who have active battery engineering roles, based on business need. This is how the HR visibility feature works. You can opt out by contacting us.
- Analytics - We may use aggregated, anonymous usage analytics to understand how the platform is being used. No personally identifiable information is shared for analytics purposes.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertising networks. We do not share data with companies that want to market unrelated products to you.
The list of specific third-party providers may be updated as we add or change services. We will update this policy when that happens.
06 Communications from us
When you create an account, you will receive a welcome email. We will also send you emails related to your account - things like plan confirmations, payment receipts, and important platform notices. You cannot opt out of these because they are necessary for using the service.
We may also send you platform updates, new feature announcements, and (where you have consented) promotional offers. You can opt out of these at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or writing to us at contact@batterymis.com.
If you have provided your phone number, we may contact you via SMS, call, or WhatsApp regarding your account, platform updates, or offers. This applies even if your number is registered on the DND (Do Not Disturb) registry, as permitted under applicable Indian regulations for transactional and service communications.
07 How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data. These include:
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard methods. We do not store your password in plain text.
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Connections to batterymis.com are encrypted.
- Payment transactions go through a PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not handle raw card data.
- Access to user data is restricted to people who need it to operate or support the platform.
- Our database infrastructure (Firebase / Google Cloud) includes its own security controls, access logging, and redundancy.
No system is completely secure. If you become aware of any security issue involving your account, please contact us immediately at contact@batterymis.com.
08 How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period after deletion, as is normal for cloud-hosted systems.
We may retain certain data for longer where required by Indian law - for example, payment records and GST invoices, which we are required to keep for a minimum of 8 years under the Goods and Services Tax Act.
Usage data that cannot be traced back to you individually (for example, aggregate statistics) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
09 Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these, write to us at contact@batterymis.com.
- Access - You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction - If any of your data is inaccurate, you can update it from your account settings or ask us to correct it.
- Deletion - You can ask us to delete your account and personal data. We will do so within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements (such as payment records).
- Opt out of marketing - You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time. Transactional emails (receipts, account notices) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
- Opt out of HR visibility - If you do not want your profile shared with hiring partners through Secure Job, write to us and we will remove you from that list.
- Withdraw consent - Where we rely on your consent to process data (such as for certain communications), you can withdraw that consent at any time.
We will respond to all rights requests within 30 days. In some cases, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10 Children
BatteryMIS is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
The platform is designed for students (ages 18+) and working professionals. If you are between 13 and 18, please make sure you have a parent or guardian's permission before registering.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time - for example, when we add new features or change how we process data. When we make a meaningful change, we will let you know by email (to your registered address) or by displaying a notice on the platform, at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last updated. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.
